Reaching 1300 miles into the heart of America, the Great Lakes represent a vast resource with 10,000 miles of shoreline and 20% of the world’s surface freshwater. America’s Inland Coast explores this unique region through four people whose lives have been shaped by these inland seas. I tried to capture through imagery and music the beauty, strength and tenacity of people challenged by the rugged environment in which they live. Their stories provide a portrait of American Life which exists because of these Great Lakes. This video was made using  3/4” video technology in 1988.
