Because these lands are remote and harsh, they remain fairly intact, unscarred by man. Yet this is rapidly changing as the search for oil and gas continues. With global warming, the once impenetrable ice is now seeing the potential flow of tankers through these waterways. It will be up to us to guard and protect.
