Labrador
My Coastal Home.In Canada's far northeastern corner , Labrador offers a transition from the windswept headlands of Newfoundland to the arctic landscape of Baffin Island. In between is a region of hard-edged beauty, of iceberg rimmed coasts and remote lakes edged by black spruce forests and caribou moss. As one fisherman put it, Labrador is "one of the few challenges left in a world of wimps." From the treeless outports that cling to its southern coast to the George River Caribou heard that migrates across its northern mountains, Labrador is a land of stark and unforgiving beauty.
