The Work of Richard Olsenius

If there is a catalyst to the story of my life, I would guess that trying to capture a "sense of place" ranks up there in importance.  I have always felt the power of the landscape no matter where it is or how mundane. John Updike once said, “Give the mundane the beauty it is due.” For all the places, and stories I have experienced, I find my work rests heavily on everyday life, through the simple act of observing the small things that can go unnoticed, but surprisingly adds up to something much bigger then I could ever have imagined.” Richard Olsenius.
