Santa Rita Moonrise - This was a piece filmed and edited this COVID summer (2020) during a time of above average heat and below average rain. The music is still a work in progress, but I’m fairly happy with it at the moment so I wouldn’t be surprised if I keep it.

The Santa Rita Mountains, south of Tucson, is one of southeast Arizona’s Sky Islands. Sky Islands are isolated mountains whose ranges are tall enough to create significant temperature changes in altitude, thus providing habitat for plants and animals adapted to the cooler temperatures from the desert below. Major geologic events created the Santa Rita Mountains but it was the earth’s climate over millions of years that ultimately shaped the mountains and created the living conditions that formed the Sky Islands.
